| 1-2 | Recognition Award | Arborguard Tree Specialists | Southern Seasons Garden | ||
We were asked to collaborate during the planning and installation of the Atlanta Botanical Garden Southern Seasons Garden. Our mission was to protect and preserve irreplaceable plants and trees in this urban forest. Virtually all of the terrain was analyzed and innovative ways were found to protect trees and plants.

| 3-4 | Recognition Award | Property Creations | Skalleberg Residence | ||
This project involved installing a rainharvest system and an efficient irrigation system to be used for the landscape; however, the architect didn't account for rainwater collection and the remainder of the property was allocated for other uses. After some discussion, we decided to install two cisterns under a space reserved for an outside patio, allowing us to collect 60% of the roof water on the site. The efficient ET based controller includes a weather station, taking into account location, soil type, slope, plant type, water restrictions when creating its own watering schedule. The proper combination of rainwater storage and efficient irrigation has reduced this client's need for potable water for irrigation to almost nothing. The fact that they live on the lake but still capture and reuse rainwater shows their commitment to the environment.
| 5-6 | Recognition Award | Unique Environmental Landscapes | Howell Residence | ||
We initially created a backyard landscape for the Howell residence in 2007. In 2008, Mr. Howell bought the adjacent lot to build a two-car garage for his small maintenance company. Being very aware of the importance of water conservation, they contacted us to explore the idea of incorporating an in-ground rain harvest system into the next phase of this project. We configured a system that stores 5100 gallons of water and also retrofitted the existing irrigation system to take advantage of newer technologies and better watering practices. We were able to flip on the switch just before Atlanta received record rainfall. This system gives the Howells water independence if restrictions or high cost for usage come into play.

| 7-8 | Recognition Award | Nature Scapes | Eagle Ranch - Wink Wynne Lodge | ||
In the mid 1980s, our Scottsdale facility was vandalized one night. Our insurance agent paid cash out of his own pocket so we could replace stolen landscape maintenance equipment and keep our business moving. That act, way above and beyond the call of duty and kindness, was never forgotten. When the agent left the insurance company to devote his life to this Hall County facility that assists in the development of troubled youth, we made Eagle Ranch a primary focus of our community service efforts. The Wink Wynne Lodge was conceived after the tragic death of the insurance company owner's son. Certain problem areas on the site called for creative solutions and the well-fed irrigation system presented its own set of enjoyable challenges, as did the rainy fall. Our company donated all of the landscape materials and labor to make the landscaping a fitting complement to the beautiful facility dedicated as the Wink Wynne Lodge of Eagle Ranch.
